Richard Boddington
Principal Digital Forensic Practitioner
Overview
Richard Boddington has an impressive career as a Detective Chief Inspector (Special Branch) in law enforcement, having been in police forces in both the the UK (London Metropolitan Police) and Hong Kong (Counter Subversion and Terrorism), as well as senior intelligence positions and security management roles in Australia.

Since 1990, Richard has been involved in information security investigation and data analysis as the founder of Forensics Australia. He has also undertaken extensive university level academic research since 2015, and is involved in teaching digital forensics, as well as being an author in the digital forensics discipline.

He was a Unit Coordinator, lecturer and researcher at Murdoch University teaching information security and digital forensics.  Involved the design and coordination of under-graduate and post-graduate units providing students virtual analyses of simulated computer crimes.  This practical training and theoretical education better prepared students to become IT security professionals in government and corporations.  It also readied them to deal more effectively with computer-related crime incidents and preserve fragile evidence for legal proceedings, also providing supervision to honours and post-graduate researchers. He has received commendations for teaching excellence, and has undertaken post-graduate research into validating digital evidence.

Richard was also a visiting Fellow of the University of Western Australia’s Centre for Forensic Science.

Dr Todd Hutchison
Digital Forensic Practitioner

Overview
Adjunct Associate Professor Todd Hutchison is a police-licensed and qualified investigator and security specialist, as well as forensic practitioner that specialises in video, digital image and audio digital forensics. He is adjunct Associate Professor in engineering and science (Curtin University), and business and law (Edith Cowan University).

In addition to be a digital forensic specialist and associate to Forensics Australia for multimedia work, Todd resides as Commercial Advisor and law clerk at law firm Balfour Meagher and the Chair of the International Institute of Legal Project Management. All his forensic services are provided through UltraTech Investigation Services.

From a media specialist perspective, Todd is qualified in both television and radio broadcasting, camera operations, audio operations, photography and music. His experience includes working in commercial television, film and running photographic studios and the Film My Video production house. He has worked in covert operations in helicopters, broadcasts vans and vehicles. He was involved in covert operations for commercial television back in the 90s.

He also has non-AQF Diplomas in criminal psychology, forensics, private investigation and criminology,  as well as master degrees in both information systems and technology management. He completed the first bachelor degree in legal project management worldwide, and is doctorate was in forensics and legal project management. 

Todd has worked with police, military, lawyers and investigators, including winning a world championship (grade 2) as part of the WA Police Pipe Band, and as a Pilot Officer with the Air Training Corps.

He is a Fellow and lecturer of the Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the Australian Information Security Association. His is always a Fellow of Leadership WA, Australian Institute of Project Management, Project Management Institute and the Australian Institute of Project Management. He is also a member of the World Association of Professional Investigators.

Todd has completed his doctorate degree in forensics and legal project management.
